Folk Factory is a music ensemble dedicated to exploring folk music, tunes, songs and dance from around the world in a fun and friendly way. We learn by ear, write and arrange our own pieces and do lots of performances, in Sheffield and further afield!

Forge & Fledge is for nurturing new and experienced musicians / singers.
There are two branches – the first is a safe space to encourage singers to find their voice, led by Rosie Hodgson. The group explores all aspects of traditional song and builds confidence with technique and repertoire. The second branch provides artistic development for musicians between the ages of 18 & 30 led by tutor Rosie Butler-Hall, honing their musicianship and performance both in a group and solo setting. The project aims to forge new singers and musicians, providing them with encouragement and experience so that they can fledge into their most confident selves, while finding a space to share our musical heritage and folklore. |

We firmly believe that performance is essential to learning more about your craft. It is also important to listen and watch others do the same, and we are proud to host gigs by some of the very best musicians around.

Throughout the year Soundpost hold workshops where you’re given the chance to work closely on a particular subject with a professional tutor. These could range from an Advanced Fiddle Workshop with Sam Sweeney to a Kids Ceilidh Workshop with Jess Arrowsmith.

Fantastic opportunities to completely immerse yourself in traditional folk music. We bring the UK’s top folk artists, folklorists and academics to lead workshops, sessions, discussions and more on a topic they’re passionate about.
