We’re really happy to welcome Sam back to present another day long fiddle workshop to stretch your ability and to get some groove into your fiddle playing.

10.00 – 11.30am: The right arm – the secret to unlocking the brilliant fiddle player inside you!
It’s a misconception that the left hand makes a great fiddler. This session will look at the reasons why bowing is the key to making great fiddle music and taking steps towards unleashing your potential to make your playing a lot groovier.
BREAK
11.45am – 1.15pm: Sound quality – what sound do you want to make?
A session talking about and working on making the sound you want to make. We’ll take a look at ways of achieving the sound quality that you want.
LUNCH
2.15pm – 3:45pm: Creating A Groove – the key to playing English tunes
English music has earned a reputation for being lumpy and devoid of groove. It needn’t (and mustn’t!) be this way. A creative look at how to get that much needed dancey feel into your tune playing.
BREAK
4.00pm- 5.00pm: Putting it all together and trouble shooting
A chance to recap the day altogether and answer any questions you might have about anything fiddle related. If you’re comfortable doing so, please bring an issue that you wouldn’t mind raising in front of the group and we will have a go at addressing individual fiddle problems in front of the group. We won’t get through all of them, but be prepared with a question or issue.  Any tunes we learn on the day will be learned by ear and sheet music won’t be provided.
